Rosewood Arts Center’s Community Gallery will feature three Rosewood faculty artist’s work this fall in a group exhibit: INSPIRE. The exhibition highlights the work of Heather Ballard, Eli Flannagan and Nicole Reading who teach photography, screen-printing and watercolor respectively. Heather Ballard will be exhibiting her photographic work which utilizes the cyanotype process. Her work is a fleeting portrait of our natural surroundings and touches on elements of chance and control. Eli Flannagan’s meticulous pen and ink drawings are inspired by surrealism. Inward looking and metaphoric, Flannagan’s drawings illustrate societal pressures and expectations. Nicole Reading’s work represents the natural world through abstraction, distortion, and accuracy. She explores the relationship between collecting and categorizing objects with their display for scientific purposes.

Notations from Home and The North Fork are part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View. The FotoFocus Biennial, now in its eighth iteration, activates over 70 exhibitions at museums, galleries, universities, and public spaces throughout Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Northern Kentucky in October 2026. Each Biennial is structured around a unifying theme; the 2026 theme, The Long View, considers aspects of time and perspective in photography and film, and how these mediums shape our understanding of the world. FotoFocus welcomes global artists, curators, critics, educators, and visitors to Cincinnati with exhibitions, talks, performances, screenings, and panel discussions during its Biennial Opening Events, October, 1–3, 2026. Amanda Bradley’s Notations from Home uses photography and the camera as a tool for note-taking and relationship building. The images make visible notions of home across geographies and time. In The North Fork, Trent Davis Bailey takes a long view of family farms on the Western Slope of Colorado. His work investigates how people interact with the land, and the exhibition couples those moments with archival images that explore the history of that land and invites viewers to consider the present moment within a longer historical framework. A reception will be held on October 17th from 5pm-6pm with an artist talk by Trent Davis Bailey at 5:30pm. Amanda Bradley will be giving a virtual artist talk on October 6 from 12-1pm. In addition to the reception and talks, Trent Davis Bailey will be leading a narrative photobook workshop on October 17th, while Amanda Bradley will be providing a guided reflection and print takeaway, with a limited quantity available to visitors to the Gallery. The exhibitions will be on display in the Kettering Health Art Gallery at Rosewood Arts Center from September 28 to November 7, 2026.

Artist awards totaling $1,100 will be selected by the juror. The exhibition will be on display in the Kettering Health Art Gallery at Rosewood Arts Center from August 3 to September 12. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. Featured artists include: Cynthia Bornhorst Winslow, Matthew Burgy, Bob Coates, Dylan Collins, Mark Fox-Morgan, Christine Gaffney, Jon Barlow Hudson, David Kenworthy, Lauryn King, John Kinnee, Dakota R., Andi F., Jason Lee, William Moore, Matthew Schellenberg, Lou Shamblin, Cade Tabit, Angela Webb, Jamie Weinfurter and Summer Zickefoose.

Rosewood Arts Center invites artists working in any media to submit proposals for exhibition in The Kettering Health Art Gallery during the 2027 Exhibition Season (January - December). Proposals must be submitted via Call for Entry by August 27th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The Kettering Health Art Gallery specializes in the exhibition of contemporary art by emerging local, regional and national artists. It is dedicated to the encouragement and creation of new works and to the promotion of the visual arts in the Dayton, Ohio area. Six to eight solo exhibitions are presented each year with support from the City of Kettering Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts and the Ohio Arts Council. The City of Kettering insures all works while on exhibition (please refer to our policy) and covers printing and distribution costs of an announcement mailer for each exhibition. An honorarium of $300 is provided to artists selected for exhibition. The Kettering Health Art Gallery at Rosewood Arts Center does not provide equipment for multimedia installations. The gallery walls are constructed of drywall over plywood and cannot be altered other than by use of standard hanging hardware. Various pedestals are available for exhibitions. Application Requirements A cover letter describing the proposed exhibition, any special installation requirements, potential public engagement programs and available dates. If the work you are submitting is for example only, please be specific in your explanation of what you propose to present in the gallery if selected. Cats for All features artwork created by Rosewood Students, Faculty, Staff, and Renters that display the wonders of our feline friends in various mediums and styles. This exhibit will run from June 11 through August 29, and is free and open to the public Mondays through Thursdays, 9 AM to 9 PM, Fridays 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays 10 AM to 3 PM.

Showcasing both contemporary and traditional approaches to landscape art. The View is an annual, juried exhibition open to Ohio artists working in any medium. Among the topics explored are nature, environmental themes and world issues. The gallery will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 AM to 9 PM, Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays 10 AM to 3 PM.

Rosewood Arts Center announces a call for entries for “Cats for All”, a Rosewood Community Gallery exhibition! Rosewood students, faculty, staff, renters, and local artists are invited to submit one artwork to a community show all about our feline companions. "Cats for All" is open to any medium and approach. The exhibition will be on display from June 11 to August 29, 2026 in the Community Gallery at Rosewood Arts Center. Please complete the digital form before shipping your work or during drop-off. Shipping must be prepaid for artwork to be returned via post. Artworks will be accepted for drop-off at Rosewood Arts Center on June 5 - 6 and can be picked up following the exhibition on August 29 and 31. Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, Ohio is pleased to announce the opening of the 32nd annual The View Juried Landscape Exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public from June 8 through July 18, 2026. There will be an artists’ reception on Saturday, July 18 from 1 - 3 pm with an awards presentation at 2:30 pm. Both the reception and exhibition are free. The View is a juried exhibition for artists living in Ohio and working in all media. This year, 114 individual artists submitted a total of 308 pieces. From these the juror, Rebecca Foley, selected 48 pieces representing 44 artists for the exhibition. Foley also selected the winners of awards totaling $1,100. Three $100 People’s Choice Awards will be presented by the Joan W. McCoy Memorial Art Fund at the conclusion of the exhibition. Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, Ohio announces a call for entries for the 32nd Annual The View, a juried exhibition for Ohio artists presenting landscape or land imagery, environmental themes and world issues. Submissions will be accepted starting Sunday, February 1, 2026 on Call for Entry. Entries must be original works in any media (2-D or 3-D), completed within the last four years. Jurying will take place from digital images. Work previously exhibited at Rosewood is not eligible. Completed entries (entry form, digital images, and non-refundable entry fee of $25 for up to 3 works), will be accepted through CallforEntry.org through April 23, 2026. The exhibition runs from June 8 through July 18, 2026. Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Artists must agree to the Gallery Virtual Group Exhibition Agreement to participate in a group exhibition.

In his exhibition, Flight of Obscurity, Nathaniel Foley communicates concepts rooted in aviation history through a visual language that references both travel and warfare. With hand fabricated sculptures in an immersive installation, Foley’s work communicates tension between grace and imminent danger. Mina Kim’s work blends drawing and sculpture using a meditative practice of bending and binding materials together. Echoing rhythms that reference Eastern thought where repeated action trains both body and spirit, Kim’s work moves between two and three dimensions. Their installations use everyday materials like twist ties and wire, and then shift into paintings and drawings, dissolving boundaries between technology and tradition. Gallery is open during regular operating hours of Rosewood Arts Center.
